FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: 4.5 Hours sounds like a really long time to be in front of the computer. What's the agenda for the day?
A: Yes. You're right, it is a long time, but it will fly by. Our workshops are very interactive and include breaks. The classroom always opens 15 minutes before class is scheduled to begin.
Q: Where will the class be held?
A: All of the course details will be sent to you upon registration. Class will take place in an online conference room where we will be able to interact with one another via webcam, computer audio, and chat.
Q: I don't know anything about social media. Is this class okay for me?
A: If you learn quickly you'll be fine. If you get overwhelmed when you don't have all the answers, this might not be the best class to start with. Instead, we recommend starting with Social Media Jumpstart, then coming back to take this course. We provide several short guide sheets to get you started and you'll be able to walk through each of the platforms with me the day of the workshop. You'll see my screen as I demonstrate how to create, navigate, manage, and interact on each platform.
Q: I'm a social media pro. What would this class offer me?
A: We love our pros, but we also know you can never stop learning. This workshop will offer you guide sheets that may spark a new way of thinking about social media and your relationship to it. This workshop goes beyond the basics and offers an more in-depth look at how to use social media to expand your reach and gain more exposure in your industry. It's more for those who already have a social media presence but want to enhance it.
Q: I won't be able to attend the day of the workshop, but I want the recorded highlights. Can I just buy those?
A: The beauty of the one-day workshop is that it offers a community of other social media savvy folks who are learning from one another. While I'm guiding you through the ins-and-outs of using these tools for your business, others in the class will have experiences to share that often prove helpful for all of us. I value the voices of those in my community so being present for the event is ideal and preferred. We don't have plans to sell the recordings just yet, but should it feel appropriate, we will send an email out to our community. Make sure you are on that list. Sign up HERE.
Q: I can't attend the entire day. What should I do?
A: If you know now that you can't commit to the full day, you can go ahead and purchase your seat. When you get the welcome email, please respond to it and let me know you can't attend the entire day so that I can make a note of that. We do several community case studies and I want to make sure I don't block you in during a time when you won't be present.
Q: I changed my mind. How can I get a refund?
A: Once you have registered and received the welcome email and pre-workshop guide sheets, there will be no refund. This happens almost instantly when you purchase the class, so think carefully before you buy.
Q: I can't get a refund. What are my other options?
A: You can gift your seat to a friend or business cohort. You can create a scholarship and donate your seat to someone who needs this but can't afford it.
Q: When do the monthly Q&A calls take place?
A: The calls take place on the last Monday of the month from 8PM to 9:30PM Eastern. Details will be sent to you when you sign up for the class.
Q: What technology do I need in order to participate in the workshop?
A: First you need a reliable internet connection. While you can use a tablet or smart phone to attend, it is more effective and user friendly to login from a laptop or desktop computer that has webcam capabilities. Instructions will be provided in the welcome email.
Q: I still have questions. What should I do?
A: Please complete the contact form and ask away -- I like it when my participants are well informed.
